In a large room decorated with blue tiles, a woman dressed in red and holding flowers in hand dance in the middle of a group that looks sitting on the ground. A musician accompanies her dance to his saz. The room opens on the Bosphorus by a large poly-lobed arch with twisted columns lets in daylight. We see beyond the balcony of St. Sophia silhouette.
A great traveler, Felix Ziem stayed twice at Constantinople in June 1847 and for two months in 1856. The watercolors executed on the grounds will subsequently times in the workshop.
