In July 1857 Jules Breton staying in a hostel in Bourron-Marlotte, commune in the forest of Fontainebleau. He meets the poet Théodore de Banville, whose "Odes funambulesques" just published. The brushed scene very spontaneous reflects the friendship between the poet painter, shown here with his family.
