Disclaimer: We try what we can to describe the art products as precisely as possible and to exhibit them visually in our shop. Still, the pigments of the print products and the print result can diverge marginally from the presentation on your monitor. Depending on your settings of your screen and the nature of the surface, colors may not be printed as realistically as the digital version shown here. In view of the fact that all fine art prints are processed and printed manually, there may also be minor differences in the motif's exact position and the size.

Additional description from The Cleveland Museum of Art (© - by The Cleveland Museum of Art - The Cleveland Museum of Art)
In 1809, the popular young French military hero General Auguste Colbert died at a battle in Spain. The following year, Schnetz depicted the moment of Colbert's death. This is the study for a much larger painting exhibited at the Paris Salon, but now lost. The exploits of Napoleon and his army were popular subjects for French artists whose work was shown in official exhibitions.
