Lieutenant Rene-Henri Drouet had received Juliette Drouet at the age of two years and called his father. Victor Hugo wished this portrait is framed and it was decorated with an inscription. He had left the choice to Juliette between a Latin inscription that we have not and this line "My uncle by the name my father through the heart." Juliet chooses this Alexandrian.
