The more than 180 years old piece of art "Fountain and Pergola in Italy" was painted by Ernest Christian Frederik Petzholdt in 1835. The original had the following size: 39 × 50 cm (15 1/2 × 20 in). Oil on paper mounted on canvas was used by the artist as the technique for the artpiece. The original artwork's inscription is the following: "inscribed on the back of the canvas in ink: F. Petzholdt". This artwork is part of the Art Institute Chicago's art collection, which is one of the world’s great art museums, housing a collection that spans centuries and the globe.
