On the Maine coast, a “nor’easter” is a storm of exceptional violence and duration. When Homer first showed this canvas in 1895, it included two men in foul-weather gear crouching on the rocks below a smaller column of spray. Even though the painting was well received and purchased by a leading collector of American art—George Hearn, who later donated it to the Metropolitan Museum—Homer reworked it to powerful effect.

Pick your product material
The product dropdown menu provides you with the opportunity to pick your favorite material and size. Therefore, we allow you to choose among the following options:
- Poster (canvas material): The poster print is a printed canvas with a slight finish on the surface, which reminds the original work of art. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin 2-6cm around the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
- Canvas: A UV printed canvas material applied on a wood frame. Hanging your canvas print: Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, meaning that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without the support of additional wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for any kind of wall.
- Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): A glossy acrylic glass print, which is sometimes denoted as a fine art print on plexiglass, makes the original work of art into brilliant décor. Your own version of the work of art is made thanks to state-of-the-art UV direct print machines. The great advantage of a plexiglass art print is that sharp contrasts and smaller color details become identifiable because of the fine gradation.
- Aluminium dibond print: Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with a true depth effect, which makes a contemporary look by having a non-reflective surface structure. The Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is your perfect introduction to art prints manufactured on aluminum. For your Direct Aluminium Dibond print, we print the favorite work of art on the surface of the aluminum composite. The white & bright parts of the artpiece shimmer with a silk gloss, however without any glare.
