The first American artist to enroll in the Royal Academy, London, Brown also studied under his compatriots Gilbert Stuart and Benjamin West. Brown remained in London for much of his career and enjoyed the peak of his success during the late 1780s, at about the time he painted this elaborate portrait. Like Copley, whose work he emulated, Brown surrounds his sitter’s sharply defined face with loosely painted clothing, props, and background effects. He was well known for his complex portrayal of fabrics, as in ample evidence here.

- Canvas print: A canvas direct print is a printed canvas mounted on a wood frame. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight. That means, it is easy to hang up the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suitable for any type of wall.
- Printed poster (canvas material): The Artprinta poster print is a printed canvas with a nice texture on the surface. It is suited for framing your fine art print with the help of a special frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster print we add a white margin 2-6cm around the print motif in order to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
- Aluminium dibond (metal print): These are metal prints on aluminium dibond with an impressive depth. The Aluminium Dibond Print is the excellent start to fine art reproductions produced with aluminum. For your Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the selected artwork onto the aluminium white-primed surface.
- Printed acrylic glass: The acrylic glass print, often denoted as a print on plexiglass, will convert the original artwork into beautiful home décor. The work of art will be printed with the help of modern UV direct printing machines. Our plexiglass with real glass coating protects your custom fine art print against light and external influences for many decades.
