John Sully Mounet said Mounet Sully was member of the Comedie-French from 1874 to 1916. The role of Oedipus in the tragedy of Jules Lacroix, he interpreted for the first time in 1881, marked the peak of his career. He reprized the role many times, including the ancient theater of Orange (1888) and during a tour in the US (1894). The painting was presented to the French Artists Society Exhibition in 1893 (No. 734).

Selectable materials
For every product we offer different sizes & materials. You can choose your your favorite size and material among the following options:
- The acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): The acrylic glass print, often labelled as a print on plexiglass, will turn your favorite original into beautiful wall décor. With an acrylic glass art print sharp contrasts and minor image details become identifiable because of the subtle gradation in the print. The plexiglass with real glass coating protects your custom art print against sunlight and external influences for up to 6 decades.
- Canvas print: The printed canvas, which should not be confused with an artwork painted on a canvas, is a digital copy printed onto cotton canvas. In addition to that, a canvas print makes a familiar and comfortable impression. Canvas Prints have the advantage of being relatively low in weight, which means that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suitable for all types of walls.
- The poster print (canvas material): Our poster is a UV printed canvas paper with a fine texture on the surface, that resembles the actual work of art. It is particularly suited for putting your art replica in a special frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin of around 2-6cm around the artwork, which facilitates the framing with a custom frame.
- Metal (aluminium dibond print): This is a metal print manufactured on aluminium dibond material with a true effect of depth. A direct Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is the excellent start to art replicas on aluminum. For our Direct Aluminium Dibond option, we print your artwork onto the surface of the aluminum composite. The bright and white sections of the original work of art shine with a silk gloss, however without the glow.

Legal note: We try the best we can in order to describe the art products in as much detail as we can and to display them visually. Nonetheless, the colors of the printing material, as well as the printing may diverge to a certain extent from the presentation on the monitor. Depending on the settings of your screen and the nature of the surface, not all colors can be printed as realisitcally as the digital version. Given that all the art prints are processed and printed manually, there might also be slight deviations in the motif's exact position and the size.
