Sir Richard Wallace (London, 1818 - Paris, 1890). Philanthropist English. Heir to a great fortune, he subsidized many charitable actions of the Parisian people during the war of 1870. Then in 1872, he endowed Paris hundred drinking fountains, the model was executed by the sculptor Charles Le Bourg, only leaving the responsibility of the City as laying and plumbing work required to supply water. At his death, the remarkable collection of works of art that he had met was bequeathed to England.
