Renoir painted this scene of a peasant girl holding a child during a trip to Naples in 1881. Dissatisfied with his drawing skills, he had travelled to Italy to study the ancient frescoes and Italian Renaissance masters; the paintings of Raphael in particular had a "simplicity and grandeur" that Renoir sought to achieve in his own work. One can see the Italian painter's influence here, in the balanced arrangement of the rosy-cheeked figures and the gentle interaction between them. It is almost as if Renoir has created a modern, secular take on the Madonna and Child subject.

What is your favorite product material option?
For every art print we offer different sizes and materials. Pick your favorite size and material among the following options:
- The poster print (canvas material): A poster is a printed sheet of canvas with a slight surface finish. A poster print is optimally qualified for putting your art copy with the help of a customized frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin between 2-6cm around the print motif in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
- Aluminium dibond print: Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an impressive depth. Colors are luminous and vivid, fine details appear crisp. This print on aluminium is the most popular entry-level product and is a sophisticated way to display artworks, as it puts all of the viewer’s attention on the artwork.
- The canvas print: The canvas print is a printed canvas mounted on a wooden frame. It has the unique look of three dimensionality. The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. That means, it is quite simple to hang up your Canvas print without the help of any wall-mounts. Therefore, canvas prints are suitable for all types of walls.
- Acrylic glass print: An print on acrylic glass, which is often labelled as a UV print on plexiglass, will change your original into lovely décor and is a viable alternative to canvas or aluminium dibond prints. With an acrylic glass fine art print contrasts as well as small artwork details become more recognizeable due to the subtle tonal gradation in the print. The plexiglass protects your selected art replica against light and heat for many decades.
