Original artwork description from the museum's website (© Copyright - Nationalmuseum Stockholm - Nationalmuseum Stockholm)
English: Gerrit Dou and his followers are known as the Leiden Fijnschilders (the “fine-painters” of Leiden). Their paintings are characterized by their small size and a level of detail that is often astounding. In the Bible here, one can almost make out every single page and every single letter. The motif, as well as the way the artist has rendered it, testifies to influences of similar paintings by Rembrandt, under whom Gerrit Dou had studied. This painting was once owned by Queen Christina.

Canvas Prints have the advantage of being low in weight, which means that it is easy to hang the Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. That is why, canvas prints are suited for all types of walls.

Important information: We try whatever we can in order to depict our products in as much detail as possible and to illustrate them visually on the different product detail pages. Nonetheless, the pigments of the printed materials, as well as the print result can differ to a certain extent from the image on your monitor. Depending on the screen settings and the condition of the surface, not all color pigments can be printed one hundret percent realistically. In view of the fact that all the fine art prints are printed and processed by hand, there might also be slight deviations in the motif's size and exact position.
