The masterpiece was created by the male Dutch painter Rogier van der Weyden in 1480. The version of the artpiece was made with the size: height: 97,3 cm width: 68,3 cm | height: 38,3 in width: 26,9 in and was painted with the medium oil on panel. The creditline of the artwork is the following: Possibly W.A. Kien van Citters, Middelburg, 1787 (as Albrecht Dürer); C. Lambrechtsen van Ritthem, Middelburg; bequeathed by him to the Middelburg Drawing Academy, 1823; purchased by the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (inv. no. SK-A-2057), 1902; on long-term loan from the Rijksmuseum, since 1948. In addition to that, the alignment is portrait with a side ratio of 2 : 3, which means that the length is 33% shorter than the width. The painter Rogier van der Weyden was an artist from the Netherlands, whose style can be classified as Northern Renaissance. The Northern Renaissance painter lived for 65 years and was born in 1399 in Tournai, Province de Hainaut, Wallonia, Belgium and deceased in the year 1464 in Brussels, Bruxelles region, Belgium.
