Two of the arches of the bridge had been washed away with their homes by a flood of the Seine, in 1658. They were rebuilt without houses and the bridge then took this unfinished look that earned him the nickname "toothless mouth."

The masterpiece named Le Quai des Ormes (current dock City Hall), the Pont Marie and the Ile Saint-Louis was created by Nicolas Jean-Baptiste Raguenet in 1757. The 260 year old piece of art measures the size: Height: 45,5 cm, Width: 83,5 cm.
