The portrayed here holds with the left, strong elongated and distorted appearing hand one filled with leaves wallet while he right that acts as expressive and holds a stylus on the portrait of a young man has. The details - like the character in the background - appear to blur here and barely legible. Rectify this situation creates, however, the view of another painting - a portrait of Jakob Matthias Schmutzer (Picture Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna), painted by Franz Messmer and Jacob carbon 1767th in Our artist portrait is in the compositional system on this return, what already Haberditzl and - independently of him - Maser have noticed. This also exists a guide to dating. In 1903, this fascinating painting was auctioned as a self-portrait Maulbertsch on the 182. Art Auction of C. J. Wawra in Vienna; 1930 it passed by purchase into the possession of the Austrian Gallery Belvedere. Through decades, neither the identity of the sitter nor the attribution were questioned on Maulbertsch. Edward Maser, however, initiated in 1971 and especially in 1985 - after the discovery of early self-portrait (Inv Lg 1160) - a critical view towards this later paintings. The facial features of the sitter here in any case do not coincide with those of the actual portraits and self-portraits by Franz Anton Maulbertsch. Now, this has something to apply in spite of all the outstanding issues, a masterpiece of Austrian Baroque Art Performing portrait as one of the greatest mysteries in the Maulbertsch research. Monika Badger Nickel has suggested that this is a self-portrait by Johann Bergl, but other painters are not entirely ignore. Knowing the Schmutzer-portraits, as well as the "anti-classical" style suggest definitely that the painter of the portrait artist within the Vienna Academy is to be found. Maybe it was actually Maulbertsch, who created this stunning portrait. [Georg Lechner, 9/2009]

- The canvas print: The printed canvas, which should not be confused with a canvas painting, is a digital replica printed on an industrial printer. The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, which means that it is easy and straightforward to hang your Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for any type of wall.
- Aluminium dibond: Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with an impressive effect of depth. For the Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the chosen artwork on the aluminium composite white-primed surface. The colors of the print are luminous in the highest definition, fine details of the print appear crisp and clear, and you can perceive a matte appearance of the product.
- Acrylic glass print: The print on acrylic glass, often denoted as a UV print on plexiglass, will transform the original artwork into magnificient décor. Above all, it forms a good alternative option to dibond or canvas prints. With an acrylic glass fine art print contrasts and minor image details become exposed due to the very subtle gradation of the picture.
- Poster print (canvas material): The Artprinta poster print is a UV printed cotton canvas paper with a slightly rough surface structure. It is particularly used for framing the art replica with a custom-made frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin between 2-6cm around the print in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
