In 1856 Thomas Couture painted the artwork. The version of the artwork was painted with the size unframed: 78,4 x 41,9 cm (30 7/8 x 16 1/2 in) framed: 96 x 60 cm (37 13/16 x 23 5/8 in). Oil on canvas was used by the European artist as the technique for the painting. Nowadays, this work of art is part of the Yale University Art Gallery's digital art collection located in New Haven, Connecticut, United States of America. We are glad to reference that the public domain artwork is being supplied with courtesy of Yale University Art Gallery. Creditline of the artwork: Stephen Carlton Clark, 1903, Fund. In addition to that, the alignment is in portrait format with a side ratio of 9 : 16, meaning that the length is 45% shorter than the width. The painter Thomas Couture was an artist, whose art style can be classified as Historicism. The painter was born in 1815 in Senlis, Hauts-de-France, France and deceased at the age of 64 in 1879 in Villiers-le-Bel, Ile-de-France, France.
