This 19th century work of art Three schoolgirls was made by the French painter Gustave Courbet in 1860. The masterpiece measures the size: 46,2 x 38 cm - frame dimensions: 72 x 63 x 9 cm and was crafted with the medium oil on canvas. The original painting has the following inscription: name on the bottom left (possibly by someone else): a mon ami Mander. / G. Courbet. 60th. It is in the the art collection of Belvedere. With courtesy of - © Belvedere, Vienna, inventory number: 3192 (public domain). The creditline of the artpiece is the following: purchase from gallery Würthle, Vienna in 1931. Besides, the alignment is in portrait format and has an aspect ratio of 1 : 1.2, meaning that the length is 20% shorter than the width. The painter, sculptor, communard Gustave Courbet was an artist from France, whose artistic style can mainly be classified as Realism. The French painter lived for 58 years - born in the year 1819 in Ornans, Bourgogne-Franche-Comte, France and died in 1877 in La Tour-de-Peilz, Vaud, Switzerland.
