In 1840 Edward Troye painted the modern art work of art named Sovereign. The original had the following size of 25 x 30 in (63,5 x 76,2 cm) and was painted with the technique of oil on canvas. This artpiece is included in the Yale University Art Gallery's collection, which belongs to Yale University and is the oldest art museum of a university in the western hemisphere. The painter Edward Troye was an artist, whose style can mainly be classified as Romanticism. The painter lived for a total of 66 years and was born in 1808 in Lausanne, Vaud, Switzerland and passed away in 1874.
