Standing front and levitating, St. John the Baptist, winged, blesses with his right hand, thumb and ring seals. He holds in his left hand a scroll on which is written: "METANEITE ENGIKEGARE basileia TON OURA (N) JON" ( "Repent, the kingdom of heaven is near" (Mt 3.2) Bottom left, a decapitated head.. rests in a kanthare, referring to the Feast of the Invention of the head of the Baptist.
