This more than 130 year-old masterpiece with the title "Anton Hye of Glunek" was made by the male Austrian artist Christian Griepenkerl in the year 1885. The version of the piece of art measures the size: 71 x 58 cm - frame dimensions: 102 x 89 x 9 cm and was manufactured with the medium oil on canvas. The original artwork's inscription is the following: signed and dated lower left: GRIEP GUY / 1885 .; Name above: SECRET. RATH. DOCTOR. ANTON. FREIHERR. FROM. HYE. AETATIS. S. LXXIX.. The creditline of the artpiece is the following: order the artist by k. k. Ministry of Culture and Education in 1885. What is more, the alignment is portrait with an image ratio of 1 : 1.2, meaning that the length is 20% shorter than the width. Christian Griepenkerl was a male painter, university teacher, whose artistic style can be classified as Realism. The Austrian artist was born in 1839 in Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany and died at the age of 77 in the year 1916.
