What does the curator team of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art write about this work of art from the painter and lithographer Thomas Doughty? (© - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)

This spring landscape is part of a series typifying the seasons and was presumably painted in the last years of the artist’s life. It is one of his most ambitious pictures and the last one of importance. It is a wide-angled panoramic view and Doughty has made an effort to give variety to the broad expanse of countryside. The farm, with people and animals in the sunlit middle distance, and the group of trees, shadowed below and brightly lit at the top, reveal a true gift for affectionate rendering of carefully observed minor detail.

Pick your product material

For every fine art print we offer different sizes and materials. Choose among the following product options now to match your preferences in size and material:

  • The poster print on canvas material: The Artprinta poster is a UV printed sheet of cotton canvas with a nice texture on the surface. It is ideally appropriate for placing your art copy in a custom frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster print we add a white margin of approximately 2-6cm round about the painting in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
  • Aluminium dibond (metal print): Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with an impressive effect of depth - for a modern look and a non-reflective surface structure. The bright sections of the original work of art shine with a silky gloss but without the glow.
  • Acrylic glass print: A glossy acrylic glass print, often named a print on plexiglass, will transform the original into beautiful décor. The artwork will be custom-made thanks to the help of state-of-the-art UV direct printing machines. Our plexiglass with real glass coating protects your chosen art print against light and external influences for many years to come.
  • Canvas: A canvas print, which shall not be confused with a painting on a canvas, is a digital image applied on a cotton canvas. Besides, canvas produces a nice, enjoyable atmosphere. How do I hang a canvas print on the wall? The advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. This means, it is quite simple to hang up the Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for all kinds of walls.
