This picture illustrates the biblical parable of the Good Samaritan, who comes to the aid of a wounded man. Having dressed the man’s wounds, the Samaritan is shown carrying him to an inn, where he would pay for the man’s care. The present version was admired by Delacroix in 1853, as Decamps was preparing to close up his Paris studio and retire to Fontainebleau. Its thickly impasted surface is characteristic of Decamps’s late manner, in which subjects of profound moral import are treated with formal austerity.

Materials our customers can pick from

In the product dropdown menu you can choose your individual material and size. In order match your personal requirements perfectly, you can choose among the following product customization options:

  • The poster print (canvas material): The poster is a printed canvas paper with a slight surface texture. It is particularly designed for putting the fine art print with a customized frame. Please note, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin of approximately 2-6 cm around the artwork, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • Aluminium print (aluminium dibond): An Aluminium Dibond print is a material with an impressive depth effect - for a modern look and non-reflective surface. The Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is your best introduction to fine reproductions produced on aluminum. For your Aluminium Dibond option, we print the selected work of art on the aluminium composite white-primed surface. The bright & white components of the original work of art shimmer with a silk gloss, however without the glow.
  • Printed acrylic glass (with real glass coating): The acrylic glass print, which is sometimes denoted as a print on plexiglass, will transform your favorite original into stunning décor. Your artwork will be manufactured with modern UV direct print machines. The result of this are vibrant and deep color tones. The acrylic glass protects your custom fine art print against sunlight and external influences for up to 60 years.
  • Canvas print: A canvas print is a printed canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher. A canvas print has the great advantage of being low in weight, which implies that it is easy and straightforward to hang the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. A canvas print is suited for any kind of wall.

Important information: We try everythig possible in order to describe our art products as accurate as possible and to demonstrate them visually on the product detail pages. Although, the pigments of the print products and the print result can differ slightly from the representation on the monitor. Depending on the settings of your screen and the quality of the surface, not all color pigments will be printed one hundret percent realistically. Because the fine art prints are processed and printed manually, there may as well be slight discrepancies in the size and exact position of the motif.
