The painter, botanical illustrator Jan van Huysum was an artist, whose style can be classified as Baroque. The Baroque painter was born in 1682 in Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands and died at the age of 67 in the year 1749.

Important information: We try everything to depict the products in as much detail as possible and to demonstrate them visually in our shop. Depending on your settings of your screen and the nature of the surface, color pigments may not be printed as realisitcally as the digital version. Considering that our art reproductions are processed and printed manually, there may also be slight discrepancies in the size and exact position of the motif.

In the 18th century, Van Huysum brought the extremely popular genre of flower painting to great heights. Instead of the usual dark background, he used a light one with a park landscape, creating the impression that the flowers are set out-of-doors on a balustrade. The décor here consists of a statue of Flora, the goddess of flowers, some cursorily painted foliage and a pond.
