The painting The farewell Godmother (after confirmation) was painted by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller. The original was painted with the size: 80,5 x 61 cm - frame dimensions: 90,5 × 80,5 × 10,5 cm and was painted with the medium oil on wood. "Signed and dated (lower right): Waldmüller 1859" was the artwork's original inscription. Nowadays, this piece of art is in the the digital collection of Belvedere. What is more, the alignment is in portrait format with a ratio of 1 : 1.2, which means that the length is 20% shorter than the width. The painter Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller was an artist from Austria, whose art style can primarily be attributed to Realism. The European painter was born in the year 1793 in Vienna and passed away at the age of 72 in 1865 in Hinterbrühl bei Wien.
