This 19th century masterpiece was created by the realist painter Carl Bloch in 1863. The beyond 150 years old original was made with the exact size Height: 245,5 cm (96,6 ″); Width: 184 cm (72,4 ″). Oil on canvas was applied by the Danish painter as the medium of the work of art. Nowadays, this artpiece belongs to the Statens Museum for Kunst (National Gallery of Denmark)'s digital art collection, which is the largest museum of fine arts in Denmark and is attached to the Danish Ministry of Culture..
