Length Portrait of Théodore Duret (1838-1927), cognac merchant, traveler, art collector and friend of Manet

After exposing the "Olympia" makes scandal at the 1865 Salon, Manet went to Spain. During this short stay, he met by chance Theodore Duret. Manet painted a portrait of him with whom he became friends and offers. Theodore Duret do will separate until many years later to donate at the Petit Palais.
