• Poster print (canvas material): Our poster print is a UV printed cotton canvas with a slightly rough finish on the surface. A print poster is suited for putting your fine art print with the help of a custom-made frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin between 2-6cm around the painting in order to facilitate the framing.

The year of Maurice Prendergast's death, Barnes set down some of his thoughts about the artist's achievement in The Art in Painting. With respect to the last canvas he had acquired during the artist's lifetime, Barnes wrote,"Marblehead Harbor represents the height of his powers in achieving a design by means of his own technique.… As a result the whole canvas is a succession of contrasts of line, color, mass and spatial relations, that give rise to a series of rhythms comparable to those of a Bach fugue. For instance, the horizontal lilac-pink river bank in the middleground serves as a starting point for one of the fugues; it first changes its direction to the slightly oblique, then changes in color by interspersions of green which makes a new unit in the fugue; that in turn is modified by line and color, interspersions up to a house with white walls and red roof…. In every part there are an infinite number of minor variations of color, line, mass, space and general treatment, which correspond to the internal variations of contrapuntal music". Richard J.
