While there has never been any doubt of Copley’s innate talent, these portraits give new meaning to the word “precocious.” At about the age of fifteen, with no formal training and very little opportunity to have studied acclaimed works of art, Copley not only could paint competently but also knew how to serve his patrons best: with accurate but richly embellished likenesses. These handsome siblings (see also 2002.612), offspring of John and Priscilla Brown Greenleaf of Boston, wear just the sort of elaborate, inventive costumes that became the artist’s forte. Copley’s source for John’s exotic cap and pose was a print after Sir Godfrey Kneller’s portrait of Lord Bury as a child.

Pick your desired item material

For every product we offer different materials and sizes. We allow yout to choose among the following variants:

  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): A glossy acrylic glass print, which is sometimes referenced as a plexiglass print, transforms your favorite original work of art into stunning home décor. With an acrylic glass art print contrasts and artwork details will be more identifiable thanks to the very subtle tonal gradation of the print. The plexiglass protects your chosen fine art print against sunlight and external influences for decades.
  • Canvas print: The canvas print, not to be mistaken with a painting on a canvas, is a digital replica applied on a canvas material. Your canvas print of this work of art will give you the unique chance to transform your fine art print into a large work of art like you would see in a gallery. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which means that it is easy to hang the Canvas print without the use of extra wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for all kinds of walls.
  • Aluminium dibond (metal print): Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an impressive depth effect - for a modern impression and non-reflective surface. For our Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the favorite artpiece onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum. The white and bright sections of the original artpiece shine with a silky gloss, however without glow.
  • Poster (canvas material): The poster is a UV printed canvas with a nice surface texture. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of something between 2-6cm round about the work of art to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
