In 1640 the artist Rembrandt van Rijn created the artwork. The beyond 380 years old original version was made with the size of height: 62,5 cm width: 47 cm | height: 24,6 in width: 18,5 in. Oil on panel was applied by the European artist as the medium of the masterpiece. The original artwork has the following text as inscrption: signed: Rembrandt. f:. Furthermore, the piece of art is included in the Mauritshuis's collection, which the Mauritshuis is home to the best artworks of Dutch painting of the seventeenth century. The painter Rembrandt van Rijn was a European artist from the Netherlands, whose art style can primarily be assigned to Baroque. The European painter lived for a total of 63 years, born in 1606 in Leiden and deceased in 1669.
