In 1860 Sanford Robinson Gifford made this masterpiece. The over 160 year-old original measures the size: 19,1 × 35,9 cm (7 1/2 × 14 1/8 in) and was painted with the technique of oil on canvas. The original artwork was inscribed with the details: signed, lower left in wet paint: "SR Gifford '60". It forms part of the Art Institute Chicago's collection. Sanford Robinson Gifford was a painter, whose style was mainly Romanticism. The painter lived for 57 years - born in the year 1823 in Greenfield, Saratoga county, New York state, United States and died in the year 1880 in New York City, New York state, United States.
