The Brustbildnis of Johanna Staude (widowed Widlicka; born on 16/02/1883 in Vienna, died on 07.02.1967 ibid) is one of the last Damenbildnisse in Klimt's oeuvre. It stands out in comparison to the previous by the quiet, simple composition. Johanna Staude was not only Gustav Klimt model in his own words, the Viennese also posed for Egon Schiele. In Herold Address Vienna she was even listed as a painter, but so far no works from her hand are known. John Collins is believed that Klimt Johanna Staude writer Peter Altenberg introduced in whose household she worked later. Through a letter from Klimt to Hermann Bahr is evidence that Klimt himself quite interested in the life of his models and also trying not only financially to help them. Hermann Bahr he asked, for example, his model Therese carpenter with a recommendation to find a job in the theater. Peter Altenberg called Johanna Staude as a "modern angel". Modern she was in any case, this document Klimt's portrait, which shows a highly fashionable short hairstyle as they emerged after the First World War, and in a blouse from a "Wiener Werkstätte" fabric. The blue, (1893-?) From the Decorative Arts student and Wiener Werkstätte employee Martha Alber designed fabric sheets is in contrast to the red-orange background. Around the neck Johanna Staude wearing a feather boa, which draws attention to her face. Her eyes radiate in bright blue, but the mouth is not yet finished running. On the question of the model, why he had not this finished painted, Klimt to have replied: "Because you then would never come to the studio."
