Maximilian Todesco (1813-1890) was the son of a textile manufacturer Hermann Todesco (1792-1844). The name "Todesco" was taken over by his father Aaron Hirschl, who was always referred to his numerous trips to Italy there as "inglese" (German). From Pressburg (Bratislava) to arise, Hermann had settled in Vienna in 1789 and operated weaving mill in nearby Mariental bei Himberg a large-scale cotton mill.
