The creditline of the artwork is the following: L. Lippmann von Lissingen, Vienna, 1876; purchased, 1876; on long-term loan to the Stedelijk Museum De Lakenhal, Leiden, since 1922 (this loan proceeded via the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Heritage, until 2013). Besides, the alignment is in portrait format with a side ratio of 1 : 1.2, meaning that the length is 20% shorter than the width. The painter Abraham van den Tempel was an artist, whose style can be classified as Baroque. The Baroque painter was born in the year 1623 and deceased at the age of 49 in the year 1672.
