Posthumous portrait of Herman Willem Daendels (1762-1818). Governor General (1808-10). At half length, standing in a landscape with binoculars in his right hand, left hand on a map of the Post Road Megamemdoeng which indicated. Also proposed in the landscape in the background is the Post Road. Part of a series of portraits of the governors general of the former Dutch East Indies.

The more than 180 year-old artwork was created by the male painter Raden Sarief Bastaman Saleh in 1838. The artwork is part of the art collection of Rijksmuseum, which is the largest museum for Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages to the present day.
