Group portrait of Michiel de Ruyter and his family. Left is Michiel Adriaensz de Ruyter, vice-admiral of Holland at the time of this portrait, his third wife Anna van Gelder (1614-87) and her son from a previous marriage Pauwelsz Jan van Gelder (1647-73). The three children from the second marriage Ruyter are standing proposed: the far right Cornelia (1673-1720) with her husband John White (died 1683)., In the middle Alida (1642-79) and left Angel (1649-83) with a falcon. The two little daughters of the couple, left Margaret (1652-88) and right Anna (1655-66), playing with their cousin Cornelis de Witte (1660-1701). Left two dogs. The company is located in a sort of garden, a stone wall left, right, a fountain with a putto.
