Rebel describes the area in the evening light and draws attention to the southwest, towards the islands of Procida and Ischia left right. A group of music-making and dancing figures is covered by the last rays of the setting sun, bright-shining their outlines from the shaded background stand out. Although the lighting effect is shown realistically, the screen layout is reminiscent of paintings by Claude Lorrain (1600-1682).
