Working in Antwerp, the commercial center of the Spanish Netherlands, Jordaens catered to an international audience with Catholic devotional images such as this one, centered on the figure of the Virgin Mary. His earthy evocation of flesh influenced Dutch artists like Hals, and his work was collected by both Vermeer and the court at The Hague. Despite his production of Catholic devotional images, Jordaens was taken after his death over the border into the Dutch Republic for a Protestant burial.

The great advantage of an acrylic glass art print is that contrasts and also small painting details will be identifiable due to the delicate gradation in the picture.
  • Printed poster on canvas material: Our poster print is a UV printed sheet of flat cotton canvas with a granular texture on the surface. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin of around 2-6cm round about the artwork in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
  • Aluminium dibond print (metal): Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with an outstanding depth effect. A direct Aluminium Dibond Print is the excellent introduction to fine art reproductions on aluminum. The bright & white parts of the original work of art shine with a silky gloss, however without any glow.
