Disgusted with the materialism of European society, Gauguin abandoned his family and career as a stockbroker and departed for Tahiti in 1891. This canvas is among the first paintings he completed on the island. Its rich colors and stylized figures were intended to be both symbolic and mysterious, evoking private thoughts and emotions. “I obtain symphonies,” he wrote, “harmonies that represent nothing real in the absolute sense of the word.”

Your product material choices

In the product dropdown menu you can pick the size and materialaccording to your preferences. That is why, we allow you to choose among the following options:

  • Metal print (aluminium dibond): Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an outstanding depth effect. A direct Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is your ideal introduction to art reproductions produced with aluminum. For the Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the chosen artpiece right onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum composite. The bright components of the original artwork shine with a silky gloss, however without glow.
  • Print on glossy acrylic glass: The acrylic glass print, often denoted as a plexiglass print, will change the original into wall decoration. Your artwork is being made with modern UV direct printing machines. The plexiglass protects your custom fine art print against sunlight and heat for between 40-60 years.
  • Poster print (canvas material): The poster is a UV printed canvas paper with a fine surface finish, that resembles the original artwork. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of approximately 2-6cm round about the painting, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • Canvas print: The canvas print, not to be mistaken with an artwork painted on a canvas, is an image printed on a canvas material. It creates the plastic look of three-dimensionality. Your printed canvas of this artwork will allow you to transform your individual into a large work of art like you would see in a gallery. Hanging a canvas print: Canvas Prints have the advantage of being low in weight. That means, it is easy and straightforward to hang the Canvas print without the use of any wall-mounts. Hence, canvas prints are suitable for all types of walls in your home.
