Gallery label: Gauguin painted this unusual image in Paris in late 1886, after his first visit to Pont-Aven, where he befriended the artist Charles Laval. Laval's profile, abruptly cut on the right, reflects Gauguin's admiration for the off center, cropped compositions of Edgar Degas. The parallel brush strokes and outlined forms of the fruit suggest the influence of Paul Cézanne. The tall dark form is a ceramic by Gauguin and typifies his highly original experiments with new media. He was especially fond of this pot, whose current location is unknown.

Materials you can choose

For every product we offer different materials & sizes. The following sizes and materials are the options we offer you for individualization:

  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating on top): The print on acrylic glass, which is often denoted as a print on plexiglass, transforms an original into wonderful décor. The great benefit of a plexiglass fine art print is that contrasts and also small painting details will be more recognizeable due to the delicate gradation. The real glass coating protects your chosen art print against light and heat for many decades.
  • Printed poster (canvas material): The poster print is a UV printed flat canvas paper with a slightly rough structure on the surface, that reminds the original work of art. It is excellently designed for framing the art copy with the help of a custom frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin between 2 - 6cm round about the print motif, which facilitates the framing with a custom frame.
  • Canvas: The printed canvas stretched on a wooden stretcher frame. A canvas has the typical impression of three-dimensionality. The printed canvas generates a attractive and warm look. A canvas print of this artwork will provide you with the chance to transform your art print into a large size artpiece as you know from galleries. How can I hang a canvas print on the wall? The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for any kind of wall.
  • Aluminium dibond print: Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with a true effect of depth. The Aluminium Dibond Print is the ideal introduction to replicas manufactured with aluminum. For the Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print your favorite work of art on the aluminium white-primed surface. The white and bright parts of the original artpiece shimmer with a silk gloss, however without the glow.
