The original artwork was inscribed with the information: signed and dated lower right on the pedestal: C. BLAAS pinx / VIENNA 1855th. Today, this work of art is included in the collection of Belvedere, which is one of Europe's most famous museums with three locations that blends the experience of architecture and art in a unique way. In addition to that, the artwork has the following creditline: transfer from the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna in 1927. What is more, the alignment is portrait and has a side ratio of 1 : 1.2, which means that the length is 20% shorter than the width. The mosaicist, painter, autobiographer Karl von Blaas was an artist, whose style can be classified as Historicism. The Historicist painter lived for 79 years and was born in the year 1815 in Nauders, Tyrol, Austria and died in the year 1894.
