Maurice (also Moritz) Benedict was born on July 4, 1835 in Eisenstadt, died on April 14, 1920 in Vienna, was an Austrian neurologist and neuroscientist Jewish descent. He worked at the University of Vienna and during the Second War of Independence (1859) and in the Austro-Prussian War as a physicist with the Austrian military as a professor of neurology. He was a specialist in the field of neuropathology, according to him, the Benedikt syndrome was named. he published regularly in numerous writings his research on brain function, neurological disorders and treatment methods (u. a. of electrotherapy and hypnosis) since 1875. Beyond the application of pendulums and dowsing rods to locate the of "pathogenic places" in what is known he wrote (1916 and 1917) textbooks.
