Renouncing the informal approach of Impressionist painters during his later career, Renoir returned to more traditionally inspired motifs. This autumn landscape shows a view of the courtyard on the north side of the chateau of Versailles. Chestnut trees line the allée and are painted softly with detached brushwork in vibrant colors of the season. Sculpture is prominently featured in this painting, and indeed Renoir’s interest in sculpture becomes apparent as he later visits the medium for the first time. In his last years, he sculpts several monumental figures with the help of Richard Guino, the assistant to the established French sculptor, Aristide Maillol. The date for this landscape is not certain, though it is likely that Renoir painted it between 1900 and 1905 when he is said to have rented a house in nearby Saint-Cloud for a summer.

In the product dropdown menu you can choose your individual material and size. Pick your favorite size and material among the following options:

  • Aluminium dibond print: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print material with an impressive depth. The non-reflective surface structure creates a contemporary look. For your Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the artwork on the aluminium white-primed surface. The bright components of the original artpiece shine with a silky gloss but without the glow. The print on aluminium is the most popular entry-level product and is an extremely sophisticated way to showcase fine art prints, because it puts the viewer’s focus on the artwork.
  • Poster on canvas material: The poster print is a printed canvas paper with a fine texture on the surface. The poster is best suited for putting the art replica with a custom frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster print we add a white margin of something between 2 - 6cm around the artwork, which facilitates the framing with a custom frame.
  • The acrylic glass print: The print on acrylic glass, which is often denoted as a UV print on plexiglass, will transform the original artwork into great décor and makes a viable alternative option to dibond or canvas prints. Your work of art is made with the help of modern UV direct printing technology. Our real glass coating protects your custom art replica against sunlight and external influences for many decades.
  • Canvas: The canvas print is a printed cotton canvas stretched on a wooden stretcher. The canvas creates a lovely and comfortable impression. Canvas Prints have the advantage of being low in weight, which implies that it is easy to hang up the Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. That is why, canvas prints are suited for any type of wall.

Since all fine art prints are processed and printed by hand, there may as well be slight differences in the motif's size and exact position.
