This pendant portrays the wife of Lucas de Clercq. Spouses were customarily depicted separately, the husband on the left and the wife on the right, both turned towards each other. The light almost always came from the left, illuminating the face of the woman evenly, and casting striking shadows on that of the man. Hals portrayed the woman – as was usual – in a more static pose than that of the man.

Select your favorite item material

For every product we offer different materials & sizes. You can choose among the following product customization options:

  • Metal print (aluminium dibond): An Aluminium Dibond print is a material with an impressive effect of depth, which creates a contemporary impression with a surface , which is not reflective. This direct UV print on aluminium is one of the most demanded entry-level products and is a sophisticated way to display art, as it puts the viewer’s attention on the whole artwork.
  • The glossy acrylic glass print: A glossy print on acrylic glass, often referenced as a plexiglass print, will turn your favorite artwork into beautiful décor. The artwork is made with the help of modern UV printing technology. The major benefit of an acrylic glass fine art copy is that sharp contrasts as well as small color details will be more visible because of the precise gradation in the picture.
  • Poster print (canvas material): Our poster is a printed canvas with a fine surface structure. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of approximately 2 - 6cm round about the print motif in order to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
  • Canvas print: The canvas print, not to be mistaken with a real painting on a canvas, is a digital replica printed directly on cotton canvas fabric. A canvas print of your favorite artwork will allow you to transform your individual fine art print into a large collection piece as you would see in a gallery. The advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, meaning that it is easy to hang up the Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suitable for any type of wall in your house.
