This 18th century piece of art was made by the rococo artist Paulus Constantijn la Fargue in 1778. The painter, draftsman Paulus Constantijn la Fargue was a European artist from the Netherlands, whose art style was primarily Rococo. The Dutch artist lived for 60 years and was born in the year 1722 in Hague, The, South Holland, Netherlands and died in the year 1782 in Hague, The, South Holland, Netherlands.

La Fargue specialized in topographical views, that is, accurate illustrations of specific places. In this depic-tion of the Haagse Bos, a wooded area in The Hague, he depicted the main cart track at left, while giving centre stage to the Herepad –a footpath favoured by local residents.
