The classic art masterpiece called Portrait of a Man with a Red Beard was painted by the male painter Lucas Cranach the Younger in 1548. The original version measures the size: height: 64 cm width: 48 cm | height: 25,2 in width: 18,9 in. Oil on panel was applied by the painter as the medium of the artpiece. The original artwork has the following text as inscrption: "dated and signed: 1548". The artpiece is in the the Mauritshuis's digital collection, which the Mauritshuis is home to the best artworks of Dutch painting of the seventeenth century. The creditline of the artwork is the following: Bequest of Cornelis Hoogendijk to the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (inv. no. SK-A-2560), 1912; on long-term loan from the Rijksmuseum, since 1951. Further, the alignment of the digital reproduction is portrait and has an image ratio of 3 : 4, which implies that the length is 25% shorter than the width. The politician, engraver, painter Lucas Cranach the Younger was an artist, whose style can mainly be assigned to Northern Renaissance. The German painter was born in 1515 in Wittenberg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany and passed away at the age of 71 in the year 1586.
