During the late spring of 1867 Bazille visited the town of Aigues-Mortes near his family home in Montpellier. Hoping for "at least eight beautiful days," he set himself the challenge of painting "absolutely simple" landscapes of the city and surrounding marshes. Of the artist’s three known views of the area, this is the only one to show the massive medieval walls of Aigues-Mortes from up close. It also displays the most striking light effects: the southern sun shines brightly through the archway, contrasting with the afternoon shadows that envelop the grazing Camargue pony and the figures in the foreground.

Which would be your preferred art print material?

For every art print we offer a range of different materials and sizes. We allow you to pick your favorite size and material among the following product individualization options:

  • Print on glossy acrylic glass: A glossy print on acrylic glass, which is often described as a UV print on plexiglass, makes your favorite artwork into great home decoration. Above all, the acrylic print makes a good alternative to dibond and canvas art prints. The great benefit of an acrylic glass fine art print is that contrasts plus small painting details will be identifiable because of the granular gradation. The acrylic glass protects your selected art print against light and heat for many decades.
  • Poster print (canvas material): The Artprinta poster print is a printed cotton canvas with a slight texture on the surface. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin of something between 2 - 6cm around the print motif, which facilitates the framing with a custom frame.
  • Aluminium dibond: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print material with an impressive effect of depth. The non-reflective surface structure make a fashionable look. For your Aluminium Dibond option, we print your favorite artwork onto the surface of the aluminum composite.
  • The canvas print: The printed canvas, not to be mistaken with a canvas painting, is a digital replica printed on an industrial printer. A canvas print has the advantage of being relatively low in weight, meaning that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without the help of extra wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suitable for any kind of wall in your house.

Because all are processed and printed by hand, there may also be minor discrepancies in the exact position and the size of the motif.
