This more than 320 year old artwork A Sprig of Gooseberries on a Stone Plinth was created by the male artist Adriaen Coorte in 1699. On top of that, alignment is in portrait format and has a ratio of 3 : 4, which implies that the length is 25% shorter than the width. Adriaen Coorte was a painter of Dutch nationality, whose artistic style was mainly Baroque. The Baroque painter lived for 48 years, born in 1659 and died in 1707.

• Aluminium dibond print: An Aluminium Dibond print is a material with an outstanding depth, which makes a modern look throuch a non-reflective surface. The white & bright parts of the original work of art shine with a silk gloss, however without any glare.

Coorte portrayed fruit with the precision of a scientist. By isolating it, it is as if he wanted to get to the very essence of a peach or a gooseberry. Although these four paintings were not conceived as a series, they have formed an ensemble since the second half of the 18th century.
