The poster print is used for framing the fine art print with a custom-made frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin 2-6cm round about the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
- Canvas print: A printed canvas material applied on a wood frame. What is more, canvas creates a lively, enjoyable feeling. The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, meaning that it is easy to hang up your Canvas print without the help of any wall-mounts. - Printed acrylic glass (with real glass coating): An acrylic glass print, often described as a UV print on plexiglass, will turn your favorite original work of art into magnificient wall decoration. - Aluminium dibond: Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with an impressive depth. The bright & white parts of the artpiece shine with a silky gloss, however without any glow. Colors are luminous and bright, fine details are crisp.
Important information: We try whatever we can to describe our products as accurate as we can and to illustrate them visually in our shop. Nevertheless, the tone of the printing material and the printing may differ marginally from the representation on your device's screen. Depending on the settings of your screen and the condition of the surface, not all color pigments will be printed as exactly as the digital version on this website. As the cross on his garment indicates, this portrait depicts a Knight of Malta, a member of an ancient and prestigious Catholic military order. The sitter is almost certainly the Florentine Fra Jacopo Salviati (b. 1537), who was the nephew and heir to the Grand Prior of Rome, one of the Order’s highest officers. It was painted in 1566, the year following the Great Siege of Malta, when Ottoman troops attempted to conquer the island and the Knights who ruled it, but were repulsed. The artist is probably the talented Mirabello Cavalori, one of a generation of Florentine artists who sought to infuse a greater naturalness into the formal conventions of portraiture of the time. The splendid frame is of the period and possibly original to the picture.
