Product materials our customers can pick

For every product we offer different materials & sizes. The following sizes and materials are the options we offer you for individualization:

  • Canvas: The printed canvas, not to be confused with a painting on a canvas, is a digital replica printed on an industrial printing machine. A canvas produces a special effect of three-dimensionality. Your canvas print of this work of art will give you the opportunity of transforming your into a large size collection piece. How can I hang a canvas on the wall? The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. That means, it is easy to hang up the Canvas print without the use of any wall-mounts. Because of thata canvas print is suited for any type of wall.
  • Printed poster (canvas material): The poster print is a UV printed canvas paper with a slightly roughened structure on the surface. The poster print is ideally suited for putting your fine art print with a customized frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin of approximately 2-6cm round about the print in order to facilitate the framing.
  • Aluminium dibond print: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print with an outstanding effect of depth. A non-reflective surface structure make a fashionable look. For the Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print your artwork onto the surface of the aluminum. The bright and white sections of the original work of art shimmer with a silk gloss but without the glare. The colors are luminous in the highest definition, the details of the print appear crisp.
  • Printed acrylic glass (with real glass coating): A glossy print on acrylic glass, which is sometimes named as a plexiglass print, will change your favorite artwork into brilliant wall decoration and offers a viable alternative to canvas and aluminidum dibond fine art prints. The artwork is manufactured with state-of-the-art UV direct printing machines. This creates deep and vivid colors. The great advantage of an acrylic glass fine art print is that contrasts and also color details become exposed thanks to the fine tonal gradation of the picture.

Legal disclaimer: We do the best we can to depict the products as clearly as possible and to demonstrate them visually in our shop. Still, the tone of the print products and the imprint may differ marginally from the image on your device's monitor. Depending on the settings of your screen and the condition of the surface, not all color pigments are printed as realistically as the digital version. Because all art prints are processed and printed manually, there may as well be minor differences in the size and exact position of the motif.

General description by the museum (© - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)

Both Gros and Gérard were favored students in the rough and tumble fraternity that was the atelier of Jacques Louis David. Intense friendships and rivalries developed there. Gros probably made this sensitive and delicate portrait in Paris before Gérard departed for study in Rome in 1790. Despite the subsequent rift in their friendship, Gérard kept his portrait for the rest of his life, and it remained with his descendants until recently.
