The sitter was born 1804 in Česká Lípa (Česká Lipa). She was the daughter of Ernest Proch, an administrative official and the eldest daughter of the famous musician Vinzenz Maschek (1755 - 1831) from Prague. Friederike's younger brother Heinrich Proch (1809 -?), Violinist and composer, the most successful students of the composer and music teacher Joseph Benes was. Joseph and Friederike probably married Friederike 1828.
