This 17th century artpiece "Smiling Girl, a Courtesan, Holding an Obscene Image" was created by the baroque painter Gerrit van Honthorst in 1625. The original version measures the dimensions - 32 x 25 1/4 in (81,3 x 64,1 cm) framed: 41 3/4 x 35 x 2 3/8 in (106 x 88,9 x 6 cm). Oil on canvas was used by the Dutch artist as the technique for the work of art. Moveover, the artwork belongs to the Saint Louis Art Museum's digital collection. Gerrit van Honthorst was a male painter of Dutch nationality, whose artistic style was primarily Baroque. The European artist lived for a total of 64 years and was born in the year 1592 in Utrecht, Utrecht province, Netherlands and died in the year 1656.
